Our Methodology

How we write Mave’s resources

Every resource in the Mave library is written in-house, and we want to be transparent about how.

What they're grounded in

Each page draws on three things: established perinatal mental-health research and the guidance of recognized organizations (Postpartum Support International, the Cleveland Clinic, the National Institute of Mental Health, the MGH Center for Women’s Mental Health, and ACOG); the common themes clinicians and researchers report in the postpartum period; and the language real mothers use to describe these experiences.

What they are

Plain-language psychoeducation. The goal is to name an experience clearly, help a mother feel less alone with it, and point her toward real support. We name things the way moms feel them, not in clinical labels.

What they are not

They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a substitute for care from a professional. Mave is non-clinical by design.

Safety comes first

Every resource page ends with a “when to seek support” section, and anything that signals crisis routes to Postpartum Support International (1-800-944-4773) and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

We keep it current

We review our resources against recognized sources and welcome feedback from the clinicians and families who use them. If you see something that should be corrected, tell us at hello@maveforme.com.
